As the May 2011 exams are over, what are the strategies being adopted for November 2011 CA Final Exams.

What about important topics after reviewing May 2011 Exam?

After reviewing all the exams of may'11 it can be concluded that there is no concept of imp topics in ca final exmx......all topics r imp especially newly introduced........so don leave ny topic b4 apprachin nov'11

hii friends...

after seeing may financial reporting paper....m more confused

actually m using paduka for FR. planning to switch over to m p vijay kumar as it gives more concept clarity......

my attempt in may 2012... is it right decision ???????????

i want 70+ in FR...

I am using MP Vijay kumar, its good and helps to study the concepts and also to nsole problems stepwise as if we are attending live classes

@ rikin go in for S BALA or Sridhar it covers all concept clearly n is best bk i hve knon after so much research

i think s bala . sridhar is only for SFM...i needed for FR.

Regarding FR, use any book for concepts but work out the probs from Padhukas atleast once. This time in May 2011, You wont believe nearly more than 60% of the sums in Fr were lifter straight from Padhukas. Yes, ICAI's favourite is their material probs, past exam ques and past RTPs. Regarding Accounting Standards, DS Rawat's book is good. THis time also many ques in AS were lifted straight from illustrations from DS Rawat's book.

Hi,

Institute have made it a point to test the students a) practically, b) on the whole syllabus. So base your studies on knowing the imp topics well as well as NOT leaving out any topic in any of the 8 subjects.

As for FR specifically, Rikin, would suggest you start with MP Vijay Kumar immediately if you are to practice AS from it - its quite an ordeal but its worth every minute. As for the practicals catch hold of any 1 good book (Parveen Sharma/MPVK) and practice the problems till they become a second nature to you, till you start doing the numericals automatically. This will increase your speed and the ability to grasp key points in a numerical problem.

Hey Guys...

This is Manu.. I had written May 2011 Exams... I wrote Only First Group..

Based on my experience in the exams, I can tell you that the Practice Manuals are very important.. Dont go to the exam hall without studying them... Because in FR subject, as per me, around 65-70 marks were asked from FR Practice Manual..

Hence, I strongly feel that studying thoroughly PMs will definately help us..

Am expecting clear First Group and planning to take my 2nd Group in November 2011..

Hi Rikin,

i jst wanna knw y r u sugesting T N Manoharan. I hav gone through that book. That book is not complete. n fails to give conceptual clearity. The only thing which i found satisfying is practical ques. in that buk. :-(

Plz tell wat made u feel that T N Man. is a good buk. :-)

Then Raghav do u think VK Gupta is good for DT?

And Rikin I am usin Saravan Prasath for Costing. I found it ok for PCC and also now for Final also. But u may also go thru institutes Compilation and suggested answers.
