how to know defective IT return u/s
139(9) which reason for notice from Income tax department.

1.Log on to your account on the portal and under E file tab ,select 'E file in response to notice u/s 139(9) ' option .
2 .Once you proceed, notices received by you under 139(9) would appear.
3. Select the correct notice details and proceed.Once you proceed, the details of defect/error made in return would appear ...if it's correct, you need to agree to the defect and file a return u/s 139(9)
if the defect is incorrect,kindly disagree and IT dept will again process your case
