09 May 2013We have given an office on rent to the Income Tax Department. Now as we fall in Service Tax, we have raised a bill wirh iinclusion of service Tax. The dept paid us rent but refused to pay the portion of Service Tax.They bluntly said that they will not reimbursed Service Tax. Now my query is that shall we have to deposit Service Tax although we have not recd ?

I feel sorry for your case. It is difficult to survive by battling with Govt Depts. In the given case the value without service tax will be deemed to include service tax on cum basis and accordingly deposit the same with Govt.
