No point in cursing ICAI.

I am happy with the Institute decision.

There is no point of arguing/to curse the institute for such fantastic disciplined approach (after such a long time, that's a shame for sure!)

Following Points should be appreciated

1. Now, students will compulsory pay more attention towards articles and make most of it within the short time. This will definitely reult in good pass percentages in forthcoming exams.

2. Students shall now have the right against working more than prescribed work schedules which many firms namely the Big 4's often exploit the articles paying less and expecting more from an article.

3. No transfers allowed thereby an article will never have to worry about over load of work esp. in audits. No travelling allowed whatsoever the employer have to recruit the articles as per the location outside the state/city/region. Giving a smooth and uniform based articleship with all the articles given appropriate work.

4. The fixed time sxhedules also will lessen the work load with reasonably good stipend.

Following Points need attention:

1. Graduation is at stake as college hours and working hours are same???

2. The biggest pain is to the Big 4's as of now they will have to follow the rules as far as the timing and recruitment of articles is concerned.

I guess ICAI has made more strict rulz not only for the articles but also the employess who were taking undue advantage of articleship duration and irregularities in terms of recruitment and payment of stipends.

If you just take a breathe and understand what ICAI wants to say, you will appreciate the same in the long run.

Have a nice time. For ICAI Student Matters!!! ......

I think Practising Auditors are followinf ICAIs regulations only those favorable to them and for the rest their rules....I have faced such situations

Chirag,

I completely disagree to your views on big 4. Big 4 pays well...its nt that they pay less to an article and exploit them. In big 4, if you work excess hours, you are given a comp-off for the same. The student is given credit for all extra hours worked. In my firm people have finished articleship 3-4 months before scheduled time.

There have also been lot of arguements against big 4 on the grounds that leave given is less and people dont manage to study. I would like to mention that big 4 has a good history of getting rank holders. In caclub website, see the featured column, the rank 1 of ca final is from a big 4. I am aware of hundreds of students from big 4 who are in top 10 for CA final as well as PCC.

There maybe disadvantages of working in a big 4, however, it is wrong to say that big 4 pay less and exploit article trainees. At the same time it is wrong to say that people from big 4 dont do well in studies (you didnt say this but Im clarifying on this point as there have been numerous posts misguiding people).

My experience has been very good. I feel like working extra hours cos I get immense appreciation and recognition here unlike it was in my previous experience with small firm and at the same time I get due credit for the extra hours I work either by getting more leave for exams.

By putting such rules, ICAI has challenged the fundamental rights of the citizens. If a student registers with a principal and after some months he is dissatisfied with the firm/principal and he is just not interested in continuing his term with that firm, what will you say? Shud he work there even if he is not interested? Shud he continue there inspite of his mental and physical frustration, and sheer dissatisfaction...just because there is no mutual consent from principal and his parents are not shifting to other citry??? I dont think it is lawful to force a student to work with some one if he is dissatisfied and disinterested.

Transfer is not a good idea and it shud be made difficult but not like what it is today. Some degree of difficulty shud be there in obtaining the transfer so that both the parties dont take hasty decisions thereby discouraging transfers.
