But havent we struggled enough??what with the exams and articleship??ICAI shud try to atleast make somethings easy for us..conducting placement where hardly 10% gets placed. what is the 90% supposed to do?

First thing I want to clear that the INSTITUTE IS NOT OFFERING COURSES WITH 100% PLACEMENTS GUARANTEED. It is giving us the professional abilities, knowledge and so on. The Campus Placements conducted by ICAI is the welcome oppourtunities that we have to appreciate. Just by registering with some job sites does not make you get job. You have to find new avenues to explore it and grab the opportunity. There are numerous opportunities but we are not able to network it.
One way to go about it would be to look into the Handbook for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants where you'll find nearly about 400 websites of various companies. Register and send your profile to them. somewhere it has to click.

To RS: Struggled in exams and articleship.
It is the way you take it.Afterall, attitude matters. If you are thinking that you are
struggling in exams and articleship, then i think you must think of continuing the
course. Pursue you interests, don't jump simply into the course by listening to
somebody.

I am not asking the institute to give me placement. But where the result was just 5-10% till nov 2010 now they are declaring result of 25%. how come?? hv the students suddenly bcome too INTELLIGENT??they are just playing with our career. first they used to declare poor results and now with so many CAs the situation has become worse than a BCOM graduate.
in the campus companies only want to recruit CAs who are either rank holders, first attempters or done their articleship from good firms. but wat abt the rest?? do they not deserve a chance? in fact the CA firms are hiring CAs at salary around 15K. CA's are exploiting other CAs. this is what this profession has come to.

The main goal behind every person who is doing CA is to earn and earn WELL. But after doing your best for 5 years and giving one of the toughest exam, a CA has to take a lower paid job just nt to be jobless. Atleast ICAI can fix a minimum remuneration for a CA.

hey this problem is with many students who are clearing recently. Like you i have cleared in Nov., 11 exams and not getting job. Infact many of my friends also are still looking for job. I think finding a suitable job is also difficult like clearing CA but like we have cleared CA, we will surely get good job also and not lose our hope. Go to some placement sites & keep updating your profile every day. Wish u good luck to find suitable job.

well new members the same thing happened when last time the results were announced . Industry cannot absorb so many fresh CAs at a time. For every one job for CA there are 10 available .. My only concern is that in few years time this would go the graduation way ....
Sorry to say but this is reality that practising CA are taking advantage of this and offering very low salaries to fresh CA.s
Neither ICAI or practising CAs are bothered about fresh CA s.
Please start your own practise. I know monetarily it is difficult but this is one way to solve the issue of no jobs.

Dear freinds,
Dont worry. Please look at the below tips which may be of use :
1 Have the right attitude :First things first. There is no need to panic and be depressed as that will certainly not help. You need to continue being positive and be on the constant look out for any opportunities that may surface.Have belief in yourself and faith in god.Be patient and you will get your opportunity when the time comes. You need to persist in your quest for the right job..
2 Make use of the Job Portals :You probably have already registered with some good job sites. If you havent its time you do.Make sure that you constantly keep updating your profile. This will increase your chances of getting an interview call or at least being seen in the search results. Also do keep in mind that the more detailed information you give about yourself the better it is.
3 Upload your CV directly on career sections of prospective employers:Most of the good companies have a career section which allows you to create a profile and upload your CV with them. While it may be a time consuming exercise to create your profile on a large number of websites , you will be surprised with the effectiveness of this approach. Where do you think good companies start from when they look for a position to fill ? Yes you guessed it right. They first begin with the database from there own website as it could save them a hefty amount they may have paid to a job consultant. So its well worth the effort to do this exercise. One tip for time saving while adopting this method : Keep all your personal and professional details readily available in an excel or word file so that you can copy and paste from there as you will realise that most sites ask for similar information. You may also ask where to start from ? You could look at
a) banks, audit firms, software companies, FMCGs
b) Best employers of 2008-2011 in various surveys
c) Companies listed in BSE/NSE
d)Companies mentioned in the home page of naukri.com
4 Make use of placement consultants : If you are really desperate to get a good job quickly and don't have the time in hand to wait for the right call, you can contact some recruitment consultants who may be able to help you in case they have openings matching to your skills. The key here is to contact only the best job consultants who would be having a number of openings with good organisations. There is no sense of contacting just about any job consultant you may come across as this will only waste your time.So identify some of the best placement consultants and mail across your CV along with the kind of job you would prefer to do. Remember it does not matter where the consultant is based as good consultants normally have openings in various cities. The only thing is you would need to tell them if you have any particular location preference. How to find a list of best job consultants ? Well you could look at this link for starters : https://www.clickindia.com/detail.php?id=8222395
5 Start your own practice or business ! : Of course as CAs you have an option of starting your own practice. You would do well to get some exposure in a decent audit firm before venturing out on your own.Even if you do not want to go for practice you could start your own business. You will of course have to consider a lot of things like capital requirements, the right business, the right location, from where to get your customers, time required to break even etc.
Hope these tips would be helpful. Best of Luck.

I guess most of the fresh CA s have already done which mentioned in point no 1 to 4 . Suggestion no 5 is only the realistic chance available. Let me tell you friends dont be apprehensive about practice . You never know few years down the line this would turn out to be best decision of your life.... Remember you are your own boss and not at the mercy of others as in case of industry
