Yesterday I was almost selected for the post of Sr. Finance Manager for a reputed American subsidiary (IT company) after 3 rounds of interview by HR and V.P Technical.
To my surprise like a bolt from blue the HR person told me that they entered into an agreement with one of the Big4 accounting firms who will check competency and then the US office will eventually say Ok for appointing me as their employee.
I lost this opportunity as I rejected checking competency by Big4 as 10+years experienced with three qualifications
In this connection I have few questions to all users of this site
1. Does this not amount to professional misconduct ?
2. Are they not undercutting HR consulting firms roles?
3. What will happen to pure merit people ?
4. How to bring to institute notice even if it doesnt amount to misconduct ?
My whole issue is there is every chance that consideration will flow to them in the form of audit fee for this service and they will put up person of their choice so that their statutory audit becomes easy as they are already overburden with audits.
Any further opinions are welcome so that I may reconcile myself with this event.
