hi everyone ,
my name is rahul agrawal and i am 26yrs old.
i am thinking to do ca and i would be needing
your help and guidance.
let me be frank with you,i was a average student
throughout school and college.i did my graduation in 2006.
i plan to give cpt on june 2011.i will be doing self study
with no outside coaching at all.
i have no idea of maths, last i studied the subject was
in class 8th in which i miserably failed.
though i am familiar with accounts, economics and mercantile law
but i am not confident in any of the subjects since its been 4 years
i touched any of the books.
i would request all of you to guide me through the path to become a ca.
i have been browsing thoroughly through the site for the past week
and i found people recommending suchitra prakashan's cpt scanner and tulsian's books
i bought the scanners but i think i would be needing a lot of practice
in accounts and specially in maths(quantitative aptitude).
i would ask you all to please recommend me books for maths(quantitative aptitude).
since i have zero background knowledge about the subject so i need books that
could help me understand the basic concepts of the topics and should have lots
of solved and unsolved questions so i could practice to gain confidence
in the subject.
similarly for accounts i need books that could help me in practicing the
topics.
since i do know i was quite weak in studies throughout my life,i plan to
dedicate myself seriously in studies eveyday from now on until i get the title of
ca before my name.
i was thinking of registering for the december cpt examinations to get
the idea of question paper pattern and to get the icai books
on all the subjects,so i need your recommendations there as to
should i register or not(does it show/mention it my track record or certificate
about the number of attempts.
i need suggestions on model test papers or collection of
previous years test papers.
i would also ask you all to provide me with any online material,
website name, forums, blogs or youtube sort of videos that could proove
helpful in my journey.
any advice, suggestion or recommendations are welcome from your side,
i look for your guidance on studying strategy as well.
any tips on motivation and concentration could also prove helpful.
thanks a lot.
queries:
->is there any limit to no. of attempts or duration of gap between cpt and ipcc{2nd level} and final.
(i read somewhere in this website that a person completed his ca in 14yrs).
->i scored 49% in my bcom and 47% in 12th so will i still qualify for the exams(some degrees require you
to score atleast 50% in graduation)
->what is the format of the exams for each subject.are the questions objective type or multiple
choice questions or do we have to solve the whole topics in paper for subject like accounts &
quantitative aptitude and write the whole theoritical answer for subjects like economics
and mercantile law.also us the student expected to mention the dates and sections in mercantile law
and draw graphs in economics.
PS.
books i bought till now are
suchitra prakasha's scanners for
Economics,Mercantile law and Quantitative aptitude
and
Tulsian's Fundamentals of Accounting
