DEAR MEMBERS,
I AM A PRACTICING CA. I AM BEING APPOINTED AS AN AUDITOR OF A NGO. I CONTACTED THE PREVIOUS AUDITOR BEFORE TAKING THE AUDIT. THE PREVIOUS AUDITOR REPLIED THAT THERE'S SOME AMOUNT TOWARDS PROFESSIONAL AND AUDIT FEES DUE FROM THE CLIENT TILL DATE AND SUGGESTED US NOT TO TAKE UP THE AUDIT JUST FOR THE SAME REASON.
SO THE ISSUE IS THAT WHETHER TO TAKE UP THE ASSIGNMENT OR NOT.WILL IT TENDS TO PROFESSIONAL MISCONDUCT IF WE TAKE UP THE AUDIT WHEN A PREVIOUS AUDITOR ABSTAINS/SUGGESTS NOT TO TAKE UP THE AUDIT JUST BECAUSE OF THE PROFESSIONAL FEES DUE TO HIM???
PLEASE SUGGEST.
THANKS IN ANTICIPATION
