@ SId,, For good memory,,,
1. Yoga and other excersice are too good,, but u have to do it on regular basis.
2. Dont play music while studying ,, i know many doing so.
3. keep reading the index of your books( the detailed one),,, it helps ur subconcious mind to make a picture.
4. Avoid watching movies or Much TV while xams are round the corner,,,
5. Else to mummy ke nusko se kaam chalao........
About lengthy answers........
1. if you know the answers perfectly,, u wont feel its lengthy..
2. Use ball pens,, it gives better speed ( i prefer writo meter).
3. IN xams dont let ur mind get divert,, it takes lot of time.
4. else keep practising,,, try to study by writing instead of reading....
I HOPE IT MAY HELP U,,,, Coz conditions are different with each of us so solutions also differs.............
