Hello,
I intend to start an e-commerce business as a sole proprietorship in order to keep compliance to a minimum.
Plan is to sell both Goods and Services. All logistics+supply chain is set in place. Only need GST to commence business.
1. Goods - Apparel like t-shirts, hoodies etc which would be bought, printed and sold under my own brand.
2. Services - I have developed a couple of software products and plan to offer them along with some IT consulting.
Question 1 - Can I do both (sale of goods and services) with a single GST? What will be the heads or HSN codes covering the above verticals?
Question 2 - As I live in a rented home, the owner has refused consent to use his residential premises to register any business.
I want to know if I can register with a virtual office address space and use the address proof documents provided by them to apply for GST. A lot of startups have done it and continue to do so.
The only question they have raised is GST application may be rejected because the premises is only used for services, not for goods. In that case, can I still apply for GST and provide the warehouse address of a shop owned by a friend who is willing to give me some space to get started?
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Thank you.
