4 exam purposes manoharan is good.
but if u want more sums & hv more time den singhania is also gud...
ahuja also available in 2 volumes....
choice is urs..refer any book u will b able to solve most of ur doubts....
U may refer vinod gupta's notes for direct taxes. it provides detailed clarification of topics. but it requires time to cover such notes.
For exam as well as practical understanding of the subject , I find Vinod Singhania as the best, for exam purpose you may not read all the examples and case laws mentioned.
Vinod Singhania is best for both exam as well as practical understanding. From exam point of view Manoharan is good.
