Name on rent receipt

Hi All,

My rental agreement has both me and my wife names. I used to take rent receipt with both me and my wifes name on it. We thought of showing the rent 50-50 to our respective employers, but my employee is not accepting such receipt. In that case, if i ask my landlord to  put only name on the receipt and then i show the entire rent amount to my employer, will that work? 

Can you advise on this. Thanks!
