MUTUTAL FUND INTEREST INCOME IS TAXABLE OR EXEMPT ???

I think only dividend income received fro mutual fund is exempt. Normally equity based mutual funds pay dividend and not inteest.
If the mutual fund is debt based and not equity mutual fund , the interest received is taxable.
