This is to ask whether payment for Event Management Services( arranging an event like annual day function in which full responsibility to manage the event is with that event manager) are liable to TDS under Section 194 C Or 194 J?
And these event management services are not in relation to sports activities.
Please clarify alongwith supporting provisions.

There is still no clarity on this issue from CBDT or judicial pronouncements. ITAT's ruling in the case of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd has been challenged before High Court. As a general practice, payer deducts TDS u/s 194J @ 10% and not 194C @ 1% or 2% so as to avoid penalty in this regard.
