Ofcourse in terms of economic growth Gujarat stands at peak. But remember economic growth it'self is not a indicator of development. Proseperity can be measured how we utilizes our limited GDP to convert it in to Human Development. 

Let me ask you one question, Gujarat is stands at first for GDP percapita Income , people have huge income at their hands & why gujarat Human development Index(HDI) Ranking goes on falling as compared to other indian states...  With High income why standard of living &HDI of Gujarat still at 0.621.

My recent study have witnessed percapita income of kerala is considered as low. But Standard of living & Human development index is the highest than all other indian states. it's HDI is 0.827 par with develped economies. even greater than Russia,turkey & so on

I wonder despite of Lower percapita income how they achives the same . According to latest survey literacy fetches to 100%

A economist from canada jim standford gives the messege to canadian peoples that how kerala converts it limited GDP in to Highest Human development. He also wrote in his magazine that "Kerala" is the real & happy exception to the indian Norms.

I stongly believe rather than economic development we have convert that in to social welfare. otherwise it has zero meaning.

i am living in Gujarat visited many states and consider Gujarat is one of the best states to live. I think Gujarat is more safe than other states even for outsiders. Also no problem of electricity, during my visits i found many of states have power shut daily that too 4-8 hrs. 

As said by Govind, many companies are here n new companies are coming.GM.ABB,Bombadier,sunpharma,Appolo Tyres, Hubetch, now tata already here . I m sure there is no country in world which is not in touch with Gujarat's chemical hub vapi n Ankleshwar.

i m not able to understand what is said by tojo above. I dont think standard of living n specially human development is bad in Gujarat.
