starting the installation, please ensure you connect a Micro-filter to each telephone socket in the home and ensure that any telephone devices such as the telephone itself and any Sky devices are also connected into the Micro-filter. You can use double sockets if you have two devices but make sure the double socket is plugged into the Micro-filter.
If you are using wireless connection, it is recommended that you situate your router as close as possible to the master socket.
This next stage is to pre-configure the router:
Unpack the router and check that all contents are present. The contents should be listed in the instruction manual.
Connect the power cable to the router and plug into an electrical socket.
Connect your RJ-11 (dark grey telephone) cable to the router (into the port marked DSL line) and the other end into your ADSL Micro-filter (into the port marked DSL). Then connect your ADSL Micro-filter to your telephone socket.
Take one end of the Ethernet/Network (light grey) cable and connect it to the port numbered '1' at the back of your router. Plug the other end into the network card at the back of your PC.
You are now ready to configure the router connection:
Switch on the power to the router and the power to your computer.
Open Internet Explorer and in the address bar, type the following numbers: 192.168.2.1
If you have already set up a password enter it here. Otherwise press 'Submit'.
Click the 'Setup Wizard' button at the top of the screen.
On the next screen, ensure your Time Zone and click 'Next'
Select PPPoA from the list. (Note: Any other settings selected here will have serious impact on your ADSL connection).
Once you have clicked PPPoA, Click Next.
You will now be asked to fill in your Supanet username and password.
Enter your username in the format username @ domain.com. For example johnsmith @ supadsl2.com)
Next, enter your password in the boxes provided.
Ensure the VPI/VCI settings are set to 0 / 38. If not, enter the VPI as 0 and the VCI as 38. Or you can click 'Back' and ensure PPPoA has been selected.
If you see a screen asking for the ADSL Mode, please ensure 'Annex A' is selected and click 'Next'.
You will then get a screen showing the configuration settings you have chosen. Check all spellings are correct and click 'Apply'.
Your data will now be saved and your router reset. This may take up to 60 seconds and a progress indicator will be shown at the bottom of the screen.
You will then be returned to your router login screen.
If you have already set a password enter it here or otherwise just press 'Submit'.
Using your connection
If the router shows 'connected' in green in the top right hand corner you can now start using your internet connection by opening Internet Explorer and connecting to a web page.
Troubleshooting
If the router shows 'no connection' in red, click 'Connect'.
If the router fails to connect at this point, please click the 'Connection Type' button in the left hand menu, under the heading 'Internet WAN'.
Check that PPPoA is selected and click 'Next'. Check that your username, password and VPI/VCI settings are correct. (Remember, these should be 0 / 38)
If you have made any changes to these settings, click 'Apply Changes' and the router will reset once again.
If you are happy that all settings are correct, ensure that the second LED, highlighted by a telephone icon, is solid GREEN and not flaashing.
If the LED is solid GREEN and you are unable to connect, please contact Supanet customer support and inform them of the following:
1: That the username and password are entered correctly;
2: That the ADSL link light is SOLID GREEN.
If the LED is FLASHING GREEN, please check the setup of the Micro-filters in the home as this means that the router cannot get an ADSL signal from your phone line.
