Most incredible story !!

Readers’ digest Jan 10

Marcel Strenberger on Jan 10, 1948 took the usual train he takes to work at 9.09

For some reason he suddenly he decided to visit a sick friend of his and got down from his train and changed to a train going to Brooklyn.

He stayed with his friend till mid afternoon.

He then boarded a crowded train to go to his office.

He sat next to a guy who was reading a Hungarian newspaper, when someone got up to leave.

He talked to him in his native language and learnt quite a bit about him. His name was Paskin. He told him his life story and how he had been captured by Russians and sent to Ukraine. After the war he went to his home town , Debrecen and was told his wife had been taken by Germans and sent to Auschwitz. He lost all hope as Auschwitz was one of the worst concentration camps. He emigrated to USA in Oct 1947.

When Strenberger was listening he kept thinking. He recalled he had met a lady at a friend’s place, who was also from Debrecen and who was in Auschwitz ! As the story had moved him he had noted down her address and phone no. !

Then Strenberger was to ask the two sweetest questions Paskin had ever heard. He asked: “Is your first name Bela?”; Paskin answered “Yes. How do you know?”; Strenberger asked “Is your wife’s name Marya?”; Paskin looked as if he was going to faint. He said “yes, yes.”

They got down and Strenberger called a no. from a telephone booth. Strenberger told Paskin , “Something miraculous is about to happen. Take this phone and talk to your wife.”

Was it chance or did God ride the Brooklyn subway that day?
