I wanted to know if the minutes of the meetings can be printed on the company's letter head and stored in a file or is there a need for special stationory as in the case of shareholder register.

There is no hard n fast rule for keeping the minutes in the specified file.
You can get the minutes printed on the specified minutes sheets and can bind them in the file for that purpose. But its not mandatory. Its optional. It create good impression.
You can aslo take the printout on A4 sheets and keep them in a file. Its ok.
