31 March 2017As per the draft law, any person dealing in goods or services and whose turnover exceeds Rs 20 lac is required to pay GST on the value of supply. However you need to get registered as soon as your turnover exceeds Rs 19 lac. Thus there may be chances that you are not liable to pay GST but required to get registered (When your annual turnover exceeds Rs. 19 lac but does not cross 20 lac).
This limit is 10 lac for North-East states.
One point that you need to keep in mind is, now the requirement to get registered under GST is based on aggregate turnover. However, earlier registration threshold was on the basis of taxable turnover.
Thus now, you may have actual taxable turnover of Rs. 10000 but you will still be required to get registered under GST.
