Dear Ankit and all other friends who have same thinking,
I want to ask question because same (Who cares of stipend as we are learner) reason is provided everytime this sort of post is published.
My question is that you are Ok that we are learner, but what if some1 needes money at that stage for his living hood??? Leme clear myself...... I have a friend, who started his CA when he was in college, and was having every1 to support..... he lost his dad in between his CPT and inter. And now he needs money so that he can support his family. By the reason you have provided, should i advice him to leave CA and support his family??? or i should advice him have patience, no need to worry about your mother hunger, you will earn later....
Dude, both things are not practicle.
I agree we are learner at that stage, but ICAI should look to at least that extend so that no1 have to leave this course with some unforseen incident.... Please share your inputs on this note.

Nitin Moudgil agreed wid u.....minimum stipend should be atleast that amount in which a student can manage his monthly living exps....(no need to take money from parents).

Indeed a minimum stipend is necessary to not only boost the morale but also for basic expenses.
But for those stiuents who are living with parents, stipend should not be a preference over learning.
There might be variances in different firms paying stipends.. but what you derive and earn as the
experience is what matters and counts at the end of the day.
So i'd suggest to every student to go for best experience and not necessarily the pay.
Best of luck

this post is running from the time i was doin my articleship till i m a chartered accountant running my own firm.. lol..!!!
You can not expect some one to pay you good along with teaching you work...
i worked for 2000 through out my internship period but never asked for family support cause to earn, its not a higher stipend but your activeness with what goes around you.. articleship shud not be made commercial.. and its not
