The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
And miles to go before I sleep.

These lines are part of a poem written by Robert Frost. The Poet says that that the forests are lovely dark and deep but at the same time we must not get under its influence and should continue our journey as there are miles to go before i sleep i.e. referrring to temptations of the materialistic world he says we must not be influenced by those temptaions and should continue our journey towards achieveing superior goals of our life before we sleep perhaps referring to death.
These words were followed by Nehru ji. Nehru ji used this words in his speeches to signify that he has lot to do for India and to fulfill the promises made to indians & that he must not be driven away from his goal. It shows the dedication of Nehru ji towards his work and India.
