Migrating to ca final new course - can we take imm attempt?

Hi.. 

If an exisitng CA Final Student migrates to New Course in Jan 2018, will he be able to take up May 2018 exam under new course? 

We may need to file exam form by mid of Feb 2018...  Please reply.
