Frankly speaking there are no landmarks , or pre-defined ways to get 60+ in accounts and Mafa, it is very subjective and depends on an individual.
However, myself not being an expert, I can give you a rough idea, what my teachers instructed me.
Not only in accounts and Mafa but also in Cost , DO NOT LEAVE any sum from the Institute Study Mat, apart from your regular reference book. Browse through the Complilations for typical sums. For example a sum on Sensitivity analysis [ in mafa] was given at the exams only in 2 instances in last 5 years.
In accounts AS's are inevitable. There are very very important.
P.S- [ from my personal experience], Do not go by any announcement made by ICAI regarding shrinking of syllabus in the Exam, they are most likely to give those questions in the exam which ought to have been shrunk.
