Memory Vs Case laws

Hi there,

I m facing a more frequent problem faced by many CA final students and tht is remembering case laws.

As all u no tht generally all of us can remember contain / fact of the case law but forgot the name of applicant and other details eg year, court etc.

Is there any tecnique to memorise the list of case laws in such a way tht as soon as the fact comes in mind, we'll got the name of case law too.

I hope tht there should be such a technique. If it is plz reply as it will not only be useful for me but also for a no. of forum members.

Hi Varun, I tell you from my experience how to remeber them. This is purely exam oriented and you need to do it till your exams.

Make a concise note of the case laws, ofcourse topicwise, and read it daily at appropriate time WITHOUT FAIL!!!. This will really work. After some days just by seeing the case law you will come to know the facts of the case. So easy know?, thats it!!

Hi there,

I no the way u told. As much time u revise as more better u will remember.

But the problem here is that this a typical method of learning and i dont want to go wth tht as these ways generally fails when u dont have sufficient time for revision and mostly at exam halls when one has to think wht would be the case law.

So m asking for a tech to remember in a systematic way eg like books kept in a library where one only needs to get the book name to find out where it is located i e in which room, which almirah and at which shelf of the almirah.

Some wht tht technique can only be useful. if any one nos somewht like tht plz reply

Hai,

I am Qualified CA. I got marks in Company Law 65, Indirect tax - 69. As per my personal experience, your must study only Supreme courts decision. And also, you must aware latest law deicision for indirect tax only you get full benefits. As per company, you must study limited case laws. But, inspite of Income tax you made some like between those which section where which law is applicable,, eg/.. Sales tax refund case Thirumalaiswamy naidu & sons,, you must link such name and Parituclars section. You take seperate notes for each section wise. In Indirect taz, you cross link with Some important words like COMMISIONING, etc eg.. Sirpur Paper Mill case.. MOVABLE / IMMOVABLE.... And also, you know, if you know exactly case law, you mentioned otherwise leave it.... you are not losing high marks... take full steps, serach website, only case law with decision making are available.. the coaching classes in chennai the give seperately for each subject case law wise and also some web site also avaialble.. take... read.... goodluck

muthu u told right to link sections and cases and remember it, but what is the source of getting only relevent prnciple lying case. if you refer book of taxmann or bharat you will find heaps of jugements which make you confuse . is there any web site whch has given relevent cases for ca final waiting 4 reply
