whether we can reimburse the amount as medical reimbursement

yes, why not, just make sure u hv original bill of of purchase of hearing device and mother has been shown as dependent by the employees in the declaration. also reimburesment of medical expenses is taxfree upto 15K while medical allowance is fully taxable in the hand of the employees.

Instead of reimbursing, give him the amount as medical allowance.
