Whether Medical Reimbursement received by State govt employee is taxable or exempt .

medical reimbursement is exempt to the extent of Rs.15000/- under exempt allowances under head salary. Section 80D is for mediclaim insurance.

However the exemption is allowable to the extent of actual expenses or Rs.15000/- whichever is lower and subject to bills provided in support of medical expense.

First it is exempt u/s 10 and not u/s 80D
amount maximum is upto 15000
