08 July 2022My mother gives me an allowance for sustenance and household expenses. I paid her medical insurance premium from that allowance. That is my only source of income (Unable to work due to personal exigencies)
Can she claim the tax benefit under 80D (as the premium is paid from the allowance that she gave me)

Yes, she can claim deduction u/s. 80D of the act..

Can she also claim the deduction for the premium paid for my health insurance? (Paid out of allowance that she gave to me. I am 45. NO other income)
