What is the meaning of "Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing"??? Law experts Pls help. Thanks.

Dear Ashish,

The term "without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing" means that none of the specific prohibitions can have the effect of reducing the scope of the general principle.

"Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing"

Without means in the absence of

prejudice means An adverse judgment or opinion

generality means having general applicability

foregoing- previously mentioned'

After puting the pieces together the meaning that comes out is as follows

Without forming any adverse (negative) opinion regarding the general application of previously mentioned text....
