If mandatory minimum 20 hours for 2008 in block of three years are not undertaken then what will be the consequences?

Dear Ajay,
ICAI doesn't mentioned anywhere if the CPE hours are not completed but it will debar from having the rights as a member. It means you can continue to be a member but can't exercise any rights. Further you will be unable to renew your membership too.

Dear Sir,
Okay, based on the above views it seems that if a default has been made for 2008 by me then there is no use to renew my membership for 2009-10. It it so? what is the solution to this situation? Please suggest.
