Mafda is concept based paper,it requires lot of self study even if u r taking coaching for it,doing coaching only is good for nuts..Best thing is you do coaching & self study together but due to some reasons if you cant join the coaching so you can definately do it by yourself, there r many students who become ca bu doing serious self study.

Rajesh makkar sir's notes was best in past but not now. These days trend is different form earlier.

Most of the question asks from New area which doesn't contained in makkar sir's notes.

SO go through other notes also for new area

Self studt is definitely possible. You may refer the book of Singhal Sir from Jaipur. It's a comprehensive book. This time also, almost all the books as mentioned above, failed to cover the paper. Only Singhal Sir's book covers the entire paper as detailed below:

1(a)  Example 10, page no. 238

1(b) Question No. 14, Page no. 357

1(c) Question No. 38, Page No. 361

1(d) Question No. 18, Page No. 251

2(b) Example 4, Page No. 331

3(a) Question J09 (i) Page no. 80

3(b) Question No. 3, Page no. 183

4(a) Question M05 (ii) Page no. 122

4(b) Question M06 Page No. 389

5(a) Question No. 14 page no. 71

5(b) Question No. 8, EVA, Accounts Handouts

6(a) Question No.1 Page No. 98

6(b)(i) Not directly, however, theory covers the same indirectly

7(a) General Question

7(b) General Question

7(c) Page no. 283 & 281

7(d) Page No. 324

7(e) Page No. 179

He is the famour teacher in the Rajasthan for MAFA, Accounts and Costing. He is a highly placed Governement Officer but diverted himself to this profession. He is consistently giving best results in MAFA in all over India. You may verifty that resutl in MAFA subject is best from Rajasthan in all over India. Singhal Sir captures at least 70% market share in Rajasthan in abovementioned subjects.

Dear Gajendra,

Don't worry, just refer S.Sridhar for MAFA/SFM, which is most easiest to understand & dont forget to go through the suggested.

Best of Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
