Is it necessary to stand shares at the prices as on 31.01.2018 in books of account of an individual? If yes, What treatment for difference arise in books of account must be done? Also advise for source of prices of shares as on 31.01.2018.

Not necessary to update, but keep records of the price of the stocks as on 31.01.2018.
If at all one wishes to change... can adjust against capital acc.
