as per meaning of Grandfathered ,
If you have purhase share on 01.10.2017 for Rs. 100
and Market Value as on 31.01.2018 is say 120
and share is sold after one year say on 01.12.2018 at Rs. 160
Then LTCG need to be paid on Rs. 160-120 = Rs. 40 and not on Rs. 60
