NEW DELHI: Cooking gas cylinder price is likely to go up by Rs 3.50, with the oil ministry looking at increasing dealer commission to Rs 40.71 per cylinder from Rs 37.25 as per an accepted formula.
Sources said a decision on raising commission on regular 14.2-kg cylinders as well as 5-kg refills is expected in a fortnight. The commission on 5-kg cylinders is expected to be raised from Rs 18.63 to Rs 20.36.
Gas dealers have been demanding a revision as per the July 2012 report of a committee made up of marketing directors of the three state-run fuel retailing companies. Dealer commission was last revised in October, 2012, when it was raised by Rs 11.42.
The dealers are demanding a higher commission on account of increase in operational expenses like salary and wages. A hike in cooking gas commission could spark a similar demand from petrol pump owners, who too have been seeking a revision of commission on petrol and diesel as per the Apurva Chandra report.
It said, however, that no revision in the additional distributor commission of 75 paisa paid on sale of non- subsidized sale of 14.2-kg cylinder was required for the present. The 75 paisa is over and above the commission of Rs 37.25.
The commission has more than doubled in past six years. The commission was raised from Rs 16.71 per 14.2-kg cylinder to Rs 19.05 on March 1, 2007; to Rs 20.54 on June 4, 2008; to Rs 21.94 on June 30, 2009 and to Rs 25.83 per cylinder on July 1, 2011.

Dear jammangguite Sir,
First of all, I don't understand your question,
Point:1 If LPG distributor supply LPG Gas to consumers, so why should they claim ITC,
Point: 2 If LPG gas has to levy under GST so the distributor will charge GST(Output) Invoice to the consumer and when he was purchase LPG gas, from their supplier, he has to claim ITC from there.
Point:3 And Gov. announced earlier The Petrol, Disel & LPG Gas out of GST.
Thanks
