Hi Guys,
I purchased shares on 25/07/2007 for Rs 46,050 and sold on 01/01/2011 for Rs 3,791.99 and I am in loss for Rs 42,258. My query is whether can I show in this financial year that is AY 2013- 2014 as a long term capital loss.

u cant Set off the Long term capital loss...Cos income of the same is exempt under Sec 10(38).

still not clear with the answer ,Pls explain in detail with my above example.
In laymans language u cannot claim this loss or these losses are not going to reduce ur taxes.
