Can I have an exact interpretation of the term 'LINEAL ASCENDANT' used in the Income Tax act,1961?
Does it include mother's parents also?

it means hum jen se aae aur hum se jo aae
for an assesse his childrens will be his lineal ascendent
and his parents will be his lineal decendent
