[... Learn From The Past ...]
“Yes, the past can hurt,
but you can either run from it, or
learn from it.”
In order for some of us to get past the pain from our past we choose to run from it, and try to mask it by occupying that spot with something else. For example, instead of letting our hearts heal from a relationship that caused us much pain, some of us choose to get in another relationship to try and bandage the wounds. Little do we realize doing so is like putting a band-aid on a gash that needs stitches.
We can't run from our pasts, but there is one especially important thing that we can use from our past that will benefit us for the rest of our lives, and that is the knowledge and wisdom that we've gained from all of our experiences. We should never try to mask or hide who we were in the past. We make mistakes and we have successes, but we should never try to live in, or run from the person that we used to be. Just use the wisdom you learned from being that person as a tool to help you infinitely in the life you live as the person you are now. Don't let the sadness of your past and the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present.
