Hello friends,
My company, a consultancy service provider, received a notice in Nov'14 from Central Excise Commissionerate that half yearly return(ST-3) for Oct'12 to Mar'13 has not been deposited.
But I have alredy deposited it within time and have the bank receipt for it.
What should I do? Please also tell me the mail address on which I should reply.

I have also faced this kind of notice 2 years back.At that time the department alleged that the assessee has not filed returns for 2 continuous years.
On receipt of notice, I drafted a letter addressed to the office from where I have received the notice. I contended that I have been regularly filing the return within due dates. To their convenience, I attached the copies of returns and acknowledgement of said half years and sent the whole bundle through speed post. Keep a copy of speed post receipt if you intend to follow this route.
