Can an income tax refund be claimed if we file ITR under section 139(4) (belated return) but before the expiry of 1 year from the end of assessment year?
For example,
The last date of filing ITR was 31st Aug, 2015. But, if I file an ITR today i.e on 2nd September, 2015, and there is a refund due to my excess TDS deduction say of Rs. 10,000/-, can I claim it and will it be receivable?

Yes Go ahead and file return you will get refund.
If you belong to Gujarat then it is extended upto 7/9/2015 by order no 119 dated 31/08/2015.
