Keep The Fire In You Burning

Whichever  part  of  the  world you live in,  one aspect of life that is common is the need for organisation or discipline, in your life.  A timetable is important to organise your life. Unorganised life is a miserable life. With organised life you can discover more, you can live better, you can do something good, you can make your life more useful. If there is no discipline in life, then you only recreate hell. What is hell? Where nothing is disciplined, that is hell. What is paradise? It is where everything is so beautiful because of an order.

When I say discipline, many people come to me saying they cannot get up early. They have this problem or that and so they cannot wake up early. Discipline does not begin and end with waking up early. It is not important whether you wake up at six o’clock or four o’clock in the morning. It is not important when you wake up, but what do you want to wake up to? You should be clear why you want to wake up. If I don’t know what I want to wake up for, then if you wake up at six o’clock, or at ten o’clock, it just does not matter.

Then there are people who tell me they sometimes feel there is no need to wake up. I say, very good! If you are clear that there is no need to wake up, then don’t wake up, keep sleeping! At least you have clarity. Sleep with clarity, with confidence that you need not get up!

That is also not acceptable to anyone. They ask me, how long can one sleep? So, you have found the answer yourselves. It is not that there is no need to get up; it is the inertia within you, that is not allowing you to get up. When you are lazy, when you are full of inertia, you are full of negativity, so you have a problem that does not let you sleep or wake up. So never be a victim of laziness, inertia or negativity. These three things are like termites and they will eat your life.

Sit quietly with yourself to discover why you should wake up. Try to be more and more with yourself. And when you are with yourself, then discover the fire inside and make your fire stronger. Life means fire. If your fire is burning, it means your life is okay. The day your fire is not burning anymore, there will be no more life. If the fire is strong, that fire can make your life useful; it can make your life purposeful. When our fire is dying, then we do not know what to do; neither do we sleep, nor do we wake up. There is no joy, interest, but only negativity, inertia and laziness.  So keep your fire burning really bright.

The more you are selfish, the less your fire becomes. The more you are selfless, the more your fire will grow because you are working towards a goal with clarity… whatever you do it is done with the view of giving.

This sense of purpose is what is called a disciplined and organised life. It should not be mistaken with routine. Both need a timetable. The timetable of a routine helps to get you through the day. Organisation is the blue print on which your life will run; it is the timetable of your life
