Indigo Hijack Drama: Jitender sent to judicial custody till Feb 16

New Delhi: Jitender Kumar Mohala, the accused in yesterday's hijack drama involving the Indigo Airlines flight E-664, has been booked under the Civil Aviation Law and sent to judicial custody till February 16. Two other persons, who were detained last night, were let off.

According to the police, 42-year-old Jitender is the son of a Retd. IAF official. He is said to be a Chartered Accountant. Jitender reportedly had a tiff with an air hostess inside the plane and threatened to hijack the plane.

The police said that Jitender was in an inebriated condition, which is yet to be ascertained. It's now known why Jitender was allowed to board the plane if he was drunk.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at 5.29 PM at the IGI Airport yesterday, after the altercation took place between Jitender and the air hostess. It caused immense problems to the passengers and they stuck inside the plane for hours, while the security drill was in place
