While I was adding interest in ITR2A against spouse income under SPI - SI sheet it is taking the amount but not adding into tax, I tried to increase the interest from 40000 to 5000000 even then it did not add up, of course I did not add the spouse income (intt) in my other source income. is it ok if it does not add up. Kindly advise

Thank you.

Pls see if macros enabled. Validate sheets.

Not really Raghavan sir, the macros are enabled every thing is ok, but it appears there is no link with spouse income (SI) sheet with tax calculating sheet. I also tried with java utility downloaded it is worse, i think the IT guys in income tax dept were under pressure to release these version on a war footing after being delayed by a month. the Java does not consider sr. citizen concept, completely erroneous in calculating advance taxes to be paid under 234 a, b & c, while the date of self assessment tax can only be done on or after the ITRs are available for public, I think still the ITR2 4 are not uploaded for online submission. what a mess they created. great job with e-verification is an exception god knows how many people will recieve notice on non submission of ITR-V despite e-verification.

Schedule SPI is merely a statement wherein you have to give the details of the clubbed income. The income itself has to be clubbed in the respective head . You did mentioned that you did not included the income , that is why it is not taking any effect . Further the java utility is using correct age etc for me, if you think there is some problem, download the utility again and see if it still persists.

I will do so. Try becoming sr. Citizen and make some entries to verify
