Even we can't file ITR U for refund.

Bcoz, The return is

Return previously not filed

Income not reported correctly

Wrong heads of income chosen

Reduction of carried forward loss

Reduction of unabsorbed depreciation

Reduction of tax credit u/s 115JB/115JC

Wrong rate of tax

Check and confirm once again.

You correctly get it but it is better to clarify for querist.

Condonation of delay is not for ITR -U. If any person want to claim refund he has to apply for condonation of delay request u/s 119(2)(b) for purposes such as claiming a refund or carrying forward and offsetting losses.

Once the request got approved, he can file return in response to such request and claim refund.

Sec 119(2)(b) is separate and itr u is separate.

The problem in current case is the assessee has tds of 1500 rs.... so..

they have made it highly problematic to file returns for these less than 2.5 lakh income cases with tds.

I'm very tired against this forum's discussion.

Means, I'm thinking like it's not going like discussion. It's going like a child's stubbornness (don't know exact word).

Sorry to say as above...

But,

For better understanding Please read the guidelines of ITR U...

You cant claim refund in case of ITR-U. In my view refund is negligible if return filing fees and late fee will be deducted

@ CA Rashmi Gandhi,

I think You wrongly guided querist in this query. Also same way in ITR U related queries.

Better to refer ITR U related instructions, please...

I'm very responsible to You. So, I again and again say you this.
