ITR query for PF

Tax queries 158 views 1 replies

I resigned from a company in March 2017 after working for 3 years. Joined another company in April 2018. I withdrew my earlier companies PF in March 2019 as i could not transfer the PF to my new company due to some UAN issues. Regional PF office deducted 10% TDS on the total amount paid to me (as per for 26AS)  which included employer contribution ? I want to know if I have to show the full amount received as income or only the employer contribution or only the interest part of money received and where should I show the same in ITR? My IT return for FY 2018-19 has been returned as defective stating the claim i am making for TDS does not reflect as income in ITR. I am not sure where and what amount I should declare as income and if I can actually claim this TDS?

You hv not rendered 5 years of continuous service, hence your entire withdrawal is taxable .
If your earlier emoloyer has deducted tax @ 10%.
Obtain TdS certificate .
file return.
