22 April 2015I am PIO & have received USA citizenship about 5 years back. I have business in USA from accompany registered in new York.
Since last 3 years I am staying in India.
I had gone to new York only once in 3 years for about one month last year.
Kindly let me know where I have to file I T Returns.ie in india or in usa.

Hi TT,
An NRI / POI is mandatorily required to file his return of income if his total income is more than basic exemption limit. Any income arising or deemed to arise in India like rent and Interest on fixed deposits are taxable and TDS is liable to be deducted.

If you dont have any income India, then you should file your IT Return in New York.
