If a ITR is filed mistakenly without payment of self assessment tax.How can we rectify it?

nothing will happen pay tax , we can also revise return

I would suggest you to pay the applicable taxes and then revise the return after updating challan details.

Its advisable to revise the return with tax paid challan details, otherwise computer generated notice is issued by CPC.
