I have a question regarding the authenticity of ITR produced by customer in a bank or any department.
How can we check or verifty if it's manipulated or not original . What is the procedure to verify it to check the authenticity of ITR presented .

1. Get its assessment order, may be u/s. 143(1).
2. Get copy of ITR downloaded from IT e-filing site.

Apart from this, banks/NBFCs use services of external agencies which get the key ITR figures like sales/debtors/etc verififed from Income tax dept. Usually this verification is carried out as a part of fraud control measures.
