If you received an acknowledgement of filing the ITR, either by SMS or by email from the Dept., you need not worry. If you did not receive any acknowledgement, and also are unable to find your saved ITR on the portal after logging in, as it happened to me, you can try the following:
1. Log in to your account. Click on efile..>incometax return..>select AY..>online filing..>start new filing.
2. Start filling the General Schedule. At one stage on this Schedule, you would get a pop-up message saying that your Return has been filed and you can revise it. This pop-up disappears after a few seconds. This confirms that the Dept. has received your ITR. Now stop filling in the ITR any further and log out. Do not file a revised return.
3. After a few days, you would get the usual confirmation on the portal to the effect that your ITR has been received and e verified successfully. You would also get access to the acknowledgement and filed ITR.
4. This procedure is based on my experience about two weeks ago. I got the confirmation on the portal as also could access the filed ITR/acknowledgement on the portal after 3 days. Another person who had a similar experience also followed the same procedure and got the problem solved in the same way like me. It seems to be a technical issue.
This may or may not work for all but is worth a try. Please note not to file a revised return. However, it would be worth filing a Grievance.
