Itr-1

Hi,

I am having one query related to ITR-1.As per new ITR-1 , there are few columns introduced like Salary(excluding all allwance, profit in lieu of salary) and allowance not exempt.

I am confused which part of the salary needs tobe filled under which column out of above 2 newly added one(rest part of new ITR-1 is cleared to me).

My salary components are:

Basic,

HRA,

transport allowance,

medical allowance,

LTA,

night shift allowance,

variable pay(performance related pay)

Extra working day allowance

Compsite allowance

Leave encashment

Field support compensation( which is actually shift allowance but reflect as field support compensation in pay slip)

Could you please clarify my doubts.?

1. As such follow form 16 part B

2. In first column..... fill basic salary with DA (without any allowances).

3. In second column all the taxable part of allowance added up.....

3. Third & fourth raw, mostly not applicable in your case; but verify the figures in form 16.

Hi Sir,

Thanks for your reply..Yes 3rd and 4th is not applicable in my case.

My doubt was only for Ist and 2nd column of part B in ITR-1.

Hi Sir,

I came to know from one of my friend that leave encashment, performance related pay and field support compensation would come

under basic salary part as these are not allowances?

Could you please throiw some loght on this?

Yes, correct....... its part of salary.....

The latest ITR1 xls released by IT dept has an error....

It does not consider 80D provisions separately from 80C every thing is just taken within the limit of 80C.

How do I raise this with IT dept. How long they take to correct the error...?
