if a Company (who is not a GTA) purchases a motor vehicle for transporting its finished goods, can the company take Input tax credit? Please explain how.

yes but use for business purposes but please check section 17(15). use business only taxable goods
Yes you can take credit of GST on vehicle purchased to transport goods in your business.
Section 17(5)(a)(ii) allows the same.
