Where law does not allow to appeal against a notice or any kind of privision then law give a special benefit to the assessee that

An assessee can challange that particular notice in hight court directly which is called writ petition and if he is not satisfied then to the supreme court which is Special leave petition

In the Indian legal system a Writ Petition is filed in the High Courts and the Supreme Court under Article 226 and Article 32 of the Indian Constitution.

A Writ Petition filed in a civil dispute, with regard to, for instance, property, is also called a Writ Petition (Civil) or a Civil Writ Petition in the cause title. The prerogative writs issued by Courts in India are habeas corpus, certiorari, mandamus, prohibition and Quo Warranto.

Special Leave Petition is filed in the Supreme Court of India by an applicant or respondent when one has failed to win over in the respective High Court of the State. The SCI grants leave only if there is a prima facie case made out.
